Renew Your License

All Board licenses, except temporary, must be renewed annually.

Temporary licenses must be renewed at 6 months. Depending on the type, some may require Board approval, while others may be renewed on request.

Visit our Licensing Fees page for more information on specific renewal fees. The licensing system will charge you according to your license type, and the fee will be adjusted when converting to inactive status in the application. Please note that there are no military or other discounts on renewal fees.

Test your knowledge of Nevada practice laws & regulations! Our optional Jurisprudence Exam is encouraged for all new applicants and renewing licensees.

Please choose the most appropriate license tab below and review all information provided beginning a renewal application.

Online License Renewal

  • The online renewal window opens 60 days prior to license expiration. You will receive an error message if you attempt to renew earlier.
  • Renewal reminders are sent to the email address on file by the licensing system and Board staff beginning 60 days prior to expiration. Please ensure your email is up-to-date and monitor spam/junk folders.
  • If you do not plan to renew you may ignore these reminders or email us to opt-out of future renewal emails.

Renewal, Late Renewal, & Reinstatement

  • On-Time Renewal: If you are within 60 days of the expiration date and the license has not yet expired, you may renew online and pay the regular renewal fee associated with your license status (active or inactive).
  • Late Renewal: If your license expired less than 30 days ago, you may renew online for an additional late fee.
  • Reinstatement: If your license expired more than 30 days ago, you may NOT renew online and YOU MAY NO LONGER PRACTICE.
    • Instead, you must complete a Reinstatement Application and pay the reinstatement fee.
    • Please also note that if you have continued to practice in Nevada or treat persons in Nevada past the 30-day late renewal period, your application may require additional review by the Board.

Continuing Education

Continuing education (CE) totaling at least 10 hours in the year preceding the expiration date is required for renewal. Please see our Continuing Education page for more information.

  • You must list the CE in the renewal application, but do not have to upload copies of certificates.
  • New graduates who are renewing for the first time may request a New Graduate CE Waiver in the application.
  • Any licensee experiencing a hardship or needing more time may request a CE Extension in the application.

Converting to a Different License Type

Renewal does noto convert license type, and vice versa. If you are eligible to convert (i.e. Provisional to Standard) you must pay for and complete this separate from renewal. Depending on your license expiration date, you may choose which to do first, but priority should be given to renewal to ensure no lapse in licensure. More information may be found on our Convert Your License page.

Converting to Inactive Status *Standard Licenses Only*

During the renewal process, a standard license may be converted from active to inactive status for a lesser renewal fee. This requires an attestation that you will not practice while the license is inactive, however continuing education and annual renewal are still required. More information may be found on our Convert Your License page.

Logging In & Completing the Application

  • If your license number includes dispensing, provisional, apprentice, assistant, etc., you MUST  add this when logging in. Example:  A-000 Dispensing, SP-0000 Provisional, HAS-000 Apprentice
  • Please also note that we will be transitioning to a username/password login format in the near future – stay tuned for updates.
  • Do not use the back button in your browser while in the application.
  • Choose "Save for Later" or "Exit" button at the bottom of the page if you need to pause the application.
  • Licenses are AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED by the licensing system, unless you have requested a name change, CE extension, or other change that requires manual approval.
  • At the end of the application, you should see a pop-up allowing you to print your new license and payment receipt. If you do not, you may log into your account to print a copy of your license at any time.
  • In an effort to minimize operating costs, the Board does not print or mail license certificates.

Temporary License Renewal

Temporary licenses may not be renewed online, as they are renewed only once after the first 6 months and additional documentation may be required. Please follow the instructions below to request renewal of your temporary license.

Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists

  1. Pay the renewal fee through our Miscellaneous Payment page
  2. Once payment is received, staff will manually renew the license for an additional 6 months. The license may only be held for a total of 1 year, but you may request conversion to a standard license at any time before the license expires. If the license expires, a new standard license application will be required.
  3. You will be notified of the successful renewal via email which will include a copy of your new license card.

Dispensing Audiologists* & Hearing Aid Specialists

These temporary licenses may not be renewed without proof of progress toward completion of the required hearing aid dispensing exams.

  1. Email the Board proof of either:
    • A passing score on the Written ILE Dispensing Examination, or
    • Documentation that you are scheduled to sit for the Written ILE Dispensing Examination.
  2. Once approved, pay the renewal fee through the Miscellaneous Payment page
  3. Once payment is received, staff will manually renew the license for an additional 6 months. The license may only be held for a total of 1 year, but you may request conversion to a standard license upon passage of both exams as long as the temporary license is still active. If the license expires, a new standard license application will be required.
  4. You will be notified of the successful renewal via email which will include a copy of your new license card.
*After January 1, 2026 per Nevada Assembly Bill 177 (2025), audiologists are no longer required to pass hearing aid dispensing examinations.

Print Your License

  • In an effort to minimize operating costs, the Board does not print or mail license certificates.
  • Upon issuance, manual renewal, or conversion of a license, Board staff will email you a copy of the updated license.
  • The online renewal application will allow you you print a copy of your updated license and receipt at the end of the application.
