Board Partners

Accreditation Commission for Audiology Education (ACAE) 

Ensures the academic quality and continuous improvement of audiology education to reflect the evolving practice of audiology.     

American Academy of Audiology

Represents audiologists and future audiologists nationwide by promoting quality hearing and balance care. 

American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)

A national organization that certifies speech-language pathologists and audiologists. 

Communication Access Services, Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division

Provides free services through funding from small monthly surcharges on phone lines in the state (NRS 427A.797). Funds are collected by the Public Utilities Commission and administered through ADSD. Services  include telecommunications equipment and assistive technology, access to services, and language acquisition services.

International Hearing Society (IHS)

A national organization that promotes the practice of Hearing Aid Dispensing. The former Nevada chapter has disbanded. 

National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Science (NBC-HIS)

A national organization that certifies Hearing Aid Specialists and Hearing Instrument Specialists.

Nevada Coalition to Address Personnel Shortages in Special Education and Related Services (NV Coalition)

A coalition of stakeholders focused on recruiting and retaining highly qualified providers of special education, related services, and early intervention services to children throughout Nevada.

Nevada Commission for Persons Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing

An advisory body within the Office of the Governor with a mission to ensure that “All Nevada citizens will have equal and full access to resources, services and opportunities in all aspects of community life.”

Nevada Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (NVRID)

Facilitated by the Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division, provides information and resources regarding the interpreting profession and related services, professional development opportunities, and supports the activities of Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing community organizations.

Nevada Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSHA)

A state association that promotes the practice of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Relay Nevada

Facilitated by the Nevada Aging & Disability Services Division, provides specialized telecommunications equipment to individuals with speech and hearing disabilities to access the phone system.
