Telepractice
Eligibility
NRS 637B.244 allows for telepractice by speech-language pathologists and audiologists.
Out-of-State Practitioners & Patients
Per NRS 637B.244 above, an out-of-state practitioner must obtain a Nevada license if they:
- Are a Nevada resident / moving to Nevada, OR
- Are providing services through telepractice to a person in Nevada (regardless of that person's permanent state of residence).
Reciprocity
Successful 2025 legislation in Assembly Bill 230 established Nevada’s membership in the Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Compact (ASLP-IC), but the Compact is not yet fully operational and the Board is not yet actively participating. Those wishing to obtain a license now may consider either a standard or temporary license, depending on their needs.
School-Based Telepractice
School-based practitioners are encouraged to contact the Nevada Department of Education regarding telehealth guidelines as they have separate licensure requirements for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in the school setting.
Waivers
No waivers to our practice laws or regulations related to telepractice are in effect.
